Finance Department at the School of Economics develops its alumni network with an alumni book
The Finance Department at the Aalto University School of Economics has undertaken an alumni book project. The number of graduates with BSc, MSc or DSc degrees in Finance has grown to over 700.
The alumni book offers a unique opportunity for Finance graduates to acquaint with students who have ever graduated from the department, and learn about their backgrounds and post-graduate endeavors. The alumni book thus works as a networking tool for the former and current students of the department.
- The alumni book will significantly improve Finance graduates’ ability to keep in touch with one another. At the same time, the book will also remind the alumni of students with whom they have studied, says Professor Matti Keloharju, Vice Chair at the Department of Finance.
During April and May 2011, a personal e-mail regarding an online questionnaire will be sent to each alumnus whose e-mail address is known to the department. The questionnaire can be answered up to June 30, after which the information will be used to write the alumni book. The book will also include statistics about the alumni.
The information will be published in traditional book format. The alumni book will only be sold to graduates of the Department of Finance and students currently studying at the Department.
- The higher the response rate and the more detailed the information submitted, the more useful the book will be. We hope that our alumni will be as enthusiastic about the project as we are and give it its full support, Professor Keloharju continues.
The alumni book will be published during 2011, and its price is €65 including postage. Every alumnus, who has not received a personal e-mail regarding the online questionnaire until the end of May, is asked to send e-mail about the matter to finance-alumni-econ(at)aalto.fi.
