Finland and Helsinki
Finland is the sixth largest country in Europe, but with 5.4 million people by the population density is low, only 15.8 people per square km. There are still large areas of untouched nature and hundreds of thousands of lakes. But Finalnd is much more than nature wonderland; it is ahigh-tech country and relative to its size one of the leading economies in the world.
Helsinki is the northernmost capitla of the EU and together with its surrounding cities Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen, a home to about one million people. In the capital region modern architecture and commercial districts are in harmony with parks and nature.
In Finland there are four distinct seasons: a cold, dark winter; a short spring; a warm or mild summer and an autumn famous for its spectacular colors. Since Finland is a long and large country, the climate is different in the northern and southern parts of the country.
